Biography

Claudio Rodriguez studied art, design, and photography in his native Colombia before receiving a LASPAU scholarship in 1974 to study in the United States, where he attended the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City. After graduating from Cooper Union, he returned to Colombia, where he taught photography, drawing and print-making at the art school of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá. From 1976 to 1985 he exhibited his drawings, paintings and photographs in numerous group and solo shows in Colombia. During this period, he also worked as a graphic designer and illustrator. In 1986 Claudio moved to New York, where he worked for many years as a motion graphics designer and digital artist for corporate clients like Johnson & Johnson, IBM, Chase, Nike and others. He is currently based in New York, where he continues to develop his work in fine art photography and painting.
